the

PHILOSOPHY

Our society, our families, our schools, our places of worship—you name it— teach us that prioritizing the “Self” goes against the good; it can be seen as sinful or just plain bad manners

We are conditioned to believe that being "selfless” is a virtue—it will make you a “good girl” or nice and helpful.

We as women are praised for being self “less,” which fuels the self-perpetuating belief that we are supposed to give first and give always.

The problem with this way of thinking is that when you step back and look at the bigger picture, you always give from a place of lack. We can’t give what we don’t have. And if we aren’t making ourselves, our needs, and our desires important in our own lives, how can we give what we most want to others?

Is it possible that the standard way of doing life this way may be, well…bullshit?
